I don’t know about you, but I want power. I’m just being honest.
I wish I was President. Like many of you, I think I could do a better job of being President than Donald Trump is currently doing (I may be wrong about that, but I don’t think so). I think I could be a better Governor than the vast majority of sitting Governors.
I want power. I want it because other people are doing it wrong.
But when I think carefully, I realize that I don’t really want power. If I had power, I would probably make significant mistakes in wielding it. Even if I didn’t, I would be frustrated by the limitations on my power, and the limitations of my knowledge and understanding of the problems we face. Even if I had power, and I was using it to make things better, I still wouldn’t know how to make things right.
That’s because what I really want isn’t power for myself. What I want is for Jesus Christ to have all the power. What I want is for Him to come and reign over all the earth. What I really want is the Kingdom of God. What I want is for His Will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
I don’t want power for myself. I want The King of Kings. I want the Lord of Lords to establish justice and righteousness.
Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
